SALT LAKE CITY - In his Triple-A debut, Aces starter Luis Frias went six strong innings to earn the win and lead the Reno Aces to a 5-2 win over the Salt Lake Bees in tonight's second game of a doubleheader. Frias, who was called up from Double-A Amarillo this week, struk out seven and came up just short of a complete game in the seven-inning contest.

Nick Heath struck first, driving a solo homer deep beyond the right-field fence on the first pitch of the third inning.

In the fifth inning, Alek Thomas picked up his first Triple-A hit with a two-out single. The outfielder entered the season as the fifth-best prospect in the Arizona system, per Baseball America.

The Aces hung two more on the Bees in the sixth, after Cooper Hummel doubled and came around to score on a Stuart Fairchild triple. Fairchild would later score on a single by Juniel Querecuto, making it a 3-0 ballgame.

Tacoma added two in the bottom of the sixth, to make it a 3-2 game.

Reno tacked on two insurance runs in the seventh and final frame, after Alek Thomas scored on an Ildemaro Vargas. Vargas came around to score on a Seth Beer double, making it a 5-2 lead for the Aces.

Frias was relieved for the seventh, after going six strong innings with just two runs allowed. Frias struck out seven and allowed just four hits to earn a win in his Triple-A debut.

JB Bukauskas came on to earn his first save of the season, pitching a perfect seventh to give Reno a sweep of the doubleheader.

Reno's back in action tomorrow, starting at 5:35 p.m. PT against the Bees. The game can be heard on KPLY 630AM or on RenoAces.com with Zack Bayrouty on the call.
