Chihuahuas Suffer Rare Shutout

The El Paso Chihuahuas were shut out for the second time in 2021 in their 4-0 loss to the Round Rock Express Saturday night at Dell Diamond.

Chihuahuas starter Brett Kennedy allowed four earned runs in 5.2 innings, his longest start of the year. El Paso reliever James Norwood struck out two batters in a scoreless eighth inning. Norwood now has 53 strikeouts in 31 Triple-A innings this season.

El Paso's Jose Azocar went 1-for-4 to extend his hitting streak to 10 games. Pedro Florimón stole second base in the third inning and is now 10-for-10 in stolen base attempts this season. All three of the Chihuahuas hits Saturday were singles.
