August 27, 2010 - Pacific Coast League (PCL1)
Colorado Springs Sky Sox News Release

The Salt Lake Bees scored six runs in the fourth inning to lead them to a 9-4 victory over the Colorado Springs Sky Sox on Friday evening at Security Service Field in front of 6,110 fans.

Salt Lake jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the second inning when catcher Hank Conger tripled with one out and then scored on a sacrifice fly by Luis Figueroa. The Sky Sox would take the lead back 3-1 in the bottom of the third on a three-run homer by Jay Payton, his fifth, but the Bees' six run frame would erase that lead.

In the fourth, Salt Lake batted around and sent 14 mean to the plate as they put the game away early. The big blows came from Alexi Amarista who tripled in two, Cory Aldridge who launched a two-run homer, his 12th, and Terry Evans who doubled in two more. When all was said and done, the Bees chased starter Chaz Roe (7-13) from the game as Roe was tagged with the loss and nine runs.

Eric Junge (5-2) picked up the win for Salt Lake after giving up four runs on nine hits in 5.2 innings of work. Salt Lake's bullpen would hold the Sox scoreless the rest of the way as they snapped the Sox winning-streak at two games.

Game four of the five games series is set for a 7:05 PM start tomorrow night. LH Greg Smith (1-5, 6.96) will start for the Sky Sox against RH Matt Palmer (2-2, 2.36).
