Aldridge Activated, Bailey Reassigned to Cedar Rapids

SALT LAKE CITY (August 27, 2010) - The Salt Lake Bees announced today that the club has activated outfielder Cory Aldridge from the Disabled List and reassigned infielder Dwayne Bailey to Single-A Cedar Rapids.

Aldridge, 31, was placed on the Disabled List with a right rib cage strain on July 30. He has appeared in 72 games for the Bees in 2010, hitting .314 with 20 doubles, 11 home runs and 56 RBI. In five games for the Angels this season, he tallied a triple and one RBI. The San Angelo, Texas native was originally selected by the Atlanta Braves in the fourth round of the 1997 draft and joined the Angels via free agency prior to the 2010 season.

Bailey, 24, has appeared in nine games for the Bees in 2010, registering three hits and two RBI. In 20 games for Single-A Rancho Cucamonga this season, he hit .239 with two doubles, one triple, 10 RBI and five stolen bases. He has also appeared in 18 games for Cedar Rapids and three games for Double-A Arkansas in 2010. The Orlando, Fla. native was originally selected by the Angels in the 21st round of the 2008 draft.
