Grand Chute, WI (May 23, 2010) - The Burlington Bees scored in the first inning for the fifth time in six games against the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers this year, but the Bees did not lead after the first inning in Sunday afternoon's 11-2 loss at Time Warner Cable Field at Fox Cities Stadium.
The Bees jumped on Wisconsin starter Nick Bucci (W, 3-1) for runs in each of the first two innings. Wil Myers and Hilton Richardson each provided RBI doubles, but Bucci settled in to twirl five scoreless frames. The righty allowed two runs on seven hits in seven innings with six strikeouts and two walks. The Timber Rattlers scored multiple runs in four of their eight trips to the plate.
Keaton Hayenga (L, 1-1) allowed seven runs, four runs, on nine hits in four and a third innings with three strikeouts and three walks. Fernando Cruz led the offense with a double and two singles. Juan Graterol singled and walked, while Allen Caldwell doubled and scored a run. Wisconsin designated hitter Khris Davis went 4-for-5 with a double and two RBI.
