Beckford-Tseu recalled; Metcalf activated

ESTERO, FL - Florida Everblades president and general manager Craig Brush along with head coach Malcolm Cameron announced today that goaltender Chris Beckford-Tseu has been recalled to the Rochester Americans of the American Hockey League.

Beckford-Tseu (pronounced: BECK-ford - SUE) returns to the Americans after playing in one game with the Everblades on Thursday night at Charlotte where he suffered a 6-5 shootout loss. The 24-year-old joined the Blades on Thursday afternoon after seeing action in 22 games with the Americans where he compiled a record of 3-14-1 with a 3.94 goals against average and an .868 save percentage.

The Everblades today also made two changes involving the injured reserve list. Defenseman Peter Metcalf was activated off the 3-day IR and will be in uniform for the Everblades tonight at Charlotte. The 29-year-old currently leads the Everblades in scoring among defenseman and is also first among all ECHL defenseman in scoring.

In addition, the Everblades also today placed defenseman Michael Grenzy on the 30-day IR after he suffered an injury in Florida's 6-5 shootout loss at Charlotte on Thursday night. The 25-year-old head to the IR having picked up eight points in 33 games.

The Everblades return to action tonight when they take on the Charlotte Checkers at 7:00 p.m. from Time Warner Cable Arena in Charlotte, NC. The Everblades' next home game is Wednesday, February 25 when they host the Johnstown Chiefs at 7:30 p.m.
