Idaho Steelheads News Release

(Boise, ID) - Idaho Steelheads head coach Derek Laxdal announced Thursday that goaltender Rejean Beauchemin has been loaned to the Manitoba Moose of the American Hockey League.

It is the 24-year-old's second trip to the AHL, the highest level of minor-league hockey in North America, this season. Manitoba is based in Winnipeg, which is his home town.

After earning the win in Idaho's 4-3 win over Utah on Wednesday, Beauchemin is now 13-6-1 on the season. His 13 victories are tied for third-most in the ECHL. His 2.69 goals-against average is tied for fifth-best in the league.

Beauchemin spent two weeks with the Moose earlier this season and started once, stopping 22 shots in the game. Manitoba will play at home Friday and Saturday night against the Milwaukee Admirals.

With 30 wins between the pipes as a Steelhead, Beauchemin ranks third all-time in the organization's ECHL era, trailing Frank Doyle (32) and Steve Silverthorn (68).

Idaho is off for the ECHL All Star break, returning to action January 22 against Las Vegas in Boise. Tickets are available at the Qwest Arena box office or by calling 208.331.TIXS. Group outings are a great way to get friends, family, co-workers, or colleagues together to enjoy a night out at great savings over walk-up ticket prices.
