Ben Gordon Selected All-Star Alternate Captain

Reading, PA - The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Toronto Maple Leafs and Boston Bruins of the National Hockey League and the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League, today announced that forward Ben Gordon has been selected as an alternate captain for the American Conference squad in the 2010 ECHL All-Star Game presented by Reebok Hockey and brought to you by Toyota and the City of Ontario, California. This season's ECHL All-Star game will be hosted by the Ontario Reign at Citizens Business Bank Arena on January 20, 2010 while the ECHL All-Star Skills Competition will be held on January 19, 2010. Gordon, who was also selected as a starter for the American Conference, joins defenseman J.C. Sawyer of the Toledo Walleye (captain) and Zach Tarkir of the South Carolina Stingrays (alternate captain) as part of the leadership group for the American Conference.

The Royals return to action tomorrow night (Friday, January 15 @ 7:05 pm) when the Elmira Jackals visit the Sovereign Center in Reading, Pennsylvania. That night, the organization will induct former defenseman Reagan Rome into the Reading Eagle Wall of Honor. The Royals game night broadcast on the Royals Radio Network presented by Transmissions by Arbogast will kick off with the pre-game warm-up show at 6:35 pm.
