Atlanta Gladiators News Release

The Gwinnett Gladiators announced today that forward Mike Bayrack has been traded to the Florida Everblades in exchange for future considerations. Bayrack was acquired by the Gladiators from Stockton early last month and appeared in nine games with the team, posting two goals and four assists for six points, including a three-point night in a 4-2 win over Charlotte at home on December 6.

The 31-year-old Edmonton, Alberta native began his professional career with the ECHL's Jackson Bandits in 1999 after four successful junior seasons in the Western Hockey League. He has spent time in the ECHL, the former United Hockey League, and has had several stints in the American Hockey league, as well as a short time overseas.

Last season, Bayrack appeared in 60 games with the Charlotte Checkers, where he amassed 60 points on 21 goals and 39 assists and added 34 penalty minutes. He also chipped in seven points in six playoff games for the Checkers.

The Gladiators continue their 7th season in the ECHL on Saturday, January 16th vs. Charlotte at 7:05 p.m. The Gladiators are the AA affiliate of the Atlanta Thrashers and Columbus Blue Jackets and play all home games at the 11,355-seat Arena at Gwinnett Center, located just off I-85 on Sugarloaf Parkway in Duluth.
