November 3, 2021 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL)
Barrie Colts News Release
The Barrie Colts are happy to announce Beau Akey (2021 1st Round Pick) has been named to the newly formed Hockey Canada Capital City Challenge.
The Capital City Challenge will serve as a one-time event to replace the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge, which was canceled due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic while providing an opportunity for Canada's National Women's Team to compete as part of its centralization schedule. Preliminary-round action kicks off on Friday, Nov. 26 at TD Place Arena and concludes on Monday, Nov. 29, followed by the semifinals on Tuesday, Nov. 30. The medal games are set to take place on Wednesday, Dec. 1.
The Waterloo Wolves Minor Hockey graduate has appeared in nine of ten of the Colts games this season while registering one assist and leading all first-year defensemen in shots on goal.
