THANKFUL FOR SGARBS: Hershey forward Mike Sgarbossa scored in both games against his former team this past weekend and now leads the Bears with eight goals on the season. Through 18 games, Sgarbossa is already halfway to the 16 goals he struck for last year in a 40-point season over 68 games with Manitoba. The alternate captain has points in four straight games, and has scored in six of Hershey's eight home games this season.

BARBER'S BLESSINGS: Forward Riley Barber has goals in four straight games for Hershey, posting seven points (four goals, three assists) in that stretch. All four of his goals have come on the power play for the Chocolate and White. The last time a Bear had goals in four straight games came during the 2015-16 season when current Washington forward Jakub Vrana tallied a goal in all four contests from Feb. 5-10, 2016. Barber already has five multi-point games this season and leads the Bears in points with 14.

SHANE STUFFING THE NET: Forward Shane Gersich scored on the power play in Friday's win over Cleveland. It was his first goal in nine games, and his first goal since his inaugural AHL marker on Oct. 19 at Charlotte. Gersich now has three points (one goal, two assists) in his past five games. Both of his goals this season have come on the power play.

PLENTIFUL SERVING OF DIVISION PLAY: The Bears next four games are versus Atlantic Division opponents, including games at Lehigh Valley and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton this weekend. Before the calendar turns to 2019, 15 of 16 remaining games for Hershey in 2018 are versus the Atlantic Division.

HELPING HANDS: The Bears are hopeful to get some key players back this weekend. Goaltender Ilya Samsonov has returned from a brief recall to Washington. Netminder Vitek Vanecek returned from an upper body injury last weekend as the backup goaltender, but could return to the net this weekend. Forward Sergei Shumakov has not played since sustaining an upper body injury on Oct. 14, but has been a practice participant this week.

TURKEY TIDBITS: On Tuesday, goaltender Parker Milner was re-assigned to ECHL South Carolina. He was 2-1-0 in three games with Hershey...Forward Nathan Walker has four points (two goals, two assists) in four games since returning from Washington...Forward Mason Mitchell made his season debut last Saturday after missing significant time to open the season due to injuries.
