Tucson Roadrunners News Release
Game #15 - Tucson (9-4-0-1) vs. Stockton (8-7-1-0)
7:05 PM PST, Tucson Arena, Tucson, Arizona
Referees: #6 Carter Sandlak, #78 Jeremy Tufts
Linesmen: #58 Colin Besch, #90 Mike Sarter
The Roadrunners will face the Stockton Heat for the second time in as many games tonight at Tucson Arena, this evening's contests serving as the middle match of three-straight scheduled between the two teams.
Tonight marks Stockton's first visit to Southern Arizona this season; they come to town riding a three-game win streak, of which includes their 3-1 win over the Roadrunners on Friday night.
The Roadrunners have played a league-low six home games thus far, but have fared well in such situations, posting a 5-1-0-0 record at Tucson Arena this year.
Defenseman Robbie Russo well be in the lineup after being re-assigned to Tucson from the Arizona Coyotes early Tuesday morning. The team will also have forward Daniel Maggio if need be; he was recalled from the Norfolk Admirals on Monday.
THREE THINGS SCORE ON 'EM: The Stockton Heat are tied for the second-worst goal differential in the AHL, getting outscored by opponents by a 67-51 margin this year, a -16 differential. The Manitoba Moose are also -16; the Utica Comets, the league's worst in the goal differential department, are a -20. The Roadrunners' 3-1 loss to the Heat Friday was just the second time all year Stockton has held an opponent to one goal.
ADIN'S OKAY: Goaltender Adin Hill was cleared and activated last week, and is expected to return to the Roadrunners' net either tonight or tomorrow. Hill, after suffering a lower-body injury on October 26 in Ontario, missed six games because of it and hasn't played in a total of seven since. Hill is 3-0-0 in four starts this season with a 3.05 GAA and a .871 SV%.
POWER PAYOFF: The Roadrunners went 0-for-7 on the power play Friday night, and are now second-to-last (30th) in the AHL in that department on the road, having scored on the man advantage just twice in 39 chances. At home, though, the Roadrunners have capitalized on seven of their 37 power plays, and will look to do so tonight against Stockton.
NUMBER TO KNOW FOUR [POINT] ONE-NINE: The Stockton Heat are tied for second-to-last in the AHL in goals-against this season, allowing their opponents an average of 4.19 goals per game, surrendering a total of 67 in 16 games played.
