TONIGHT

Stockton rides a season long three-game winning streak heading into tonight's matchup against the Tucson Roadrunners. Tonight marks the second of three straight meetings against the Roadrunners. This Tuesday night matchup kicks off the Heat's Pacific-division road trip during Thanksgiving week with three games in four nights. Stockton is also riding a two-game road winning streak and a victory would match a season long three-game road winning streak.

Of course, you can watch all the action on AHLTV all season long and be sure to download the new Stockton Heat App and check out the VipR camera as well for a unique and interactive experience!

Or, you can head over to Channel Brewing Co. in Downtown Stockton as the brew pub will be serving up delicious craft beer and pizzas with the Heat on their TV's at 110 N. San Joaquin Street!

WHO TO WATCH

Matthew Phillips has been outstanding for Stockton over the last two weeks. After a slow start to his rookie season where he had no points in his first eight pro games, the undersized winger now has five points in his last five games. Phillips also comes into tonight's game riding a three-game point streak. Phillips was used to scoring in bunches over the last few seasons in the WHL with Victoria and hopefully these last five games are a sign that Phillips is beginning to find his stride in pro hockey.

PENALTY KILL

The Heat penalty kill ranked last in the AHL ten days ago and now is in the middle third of the league after killing off 17 of the last 18 power play chances against, including 13 straight kills over the last three games. Last time out vs. Tucson, Stockton killed off all seven chances on the penalty kill. Tucson's power play is 29th in the league, operating at just 11.8%. Shutting down Tucson's struggling man-advantage will be crucial to try and earn a road win against one of the top team's in the Pacific division.

SCHNEIDS MAKING MOST OF OPPORTUNITY

With injuries to both Jon Gillies and Tyler Parsons, Nick Schneider has earned a chance to shine with the Heat. The 21-year-old netminder has earned wins in three straight games for the Heat, including an impressive 32-save performance on Friday, to hold Tucson to just one goal. In his four games this season, Schneider is 3-0 with a 1.12 GAA and .962 SV%.

Nick Schneider picked up both wins in goal against Colorado. The first coming in relief for Jon Gillies on Tuesday night. The 21-year-old kept a clean sheet in the third period and overtime to help Stockton earn the 5-4 comeback victory. Schneider got the start on Wednesday and was outstanding in goal, stopping 33 of 35 shots in his first start of the season for Stockton.

KYLINGTON ON A ROLL

Oliver Kylington is quietly performing as one of the league's top defenseman. The Swedish blueliner has six goals and 13 points through 16 games. His six goals is tied for third in the AHL and his points rank seventh in the league. Kylington is just one goal shy of matching his career high in goals of seven. He reached that mark in 62 games last season.

LAZER SHOW

For the first time in his professional career of 245 NHL games and 28 AHL games, Curtis Lazar recorded his first three-point night of his career on Wednesday in Colorado. The Salmon Arm, BC native took over the second period after requiring stitches during the first intermission on Wednesday after getting a stick high to the face, creating the play that resulted in Glenn Gawdin's power-play goal and then scoring even strength moments later and again shorthanded.

INTERESTING FACT

Stockton is 8-3 this season on games not played on a Saturday night. Conversely, the Heat are 0-4-1 on Saturday nights. Thankfully for Stockton they don't play on a Saturday again until December.
