Bears look to keep hope alive tonight in Philadelphia
April 1, 2005 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Hershey Bears News Release
After a miracle finish in Wilkes-Barre Wednesday to pull within four points of a playoff spot, the BEARS can't afford to let up tonight as the team travels to Philadelphia to meet the Phantoms at 7:05 p.m.
Marek Svatos keep HERSHEY'S season afloat with the game-winning goal Wednesday against the Penguins. Svatos scored with 1.8 seconds left in regulation to earn the BEARS two points in the standings and denied Wilkes-Barre/Scranton any points in the process. Svatos finished the game Wednesday with two goals and an assist, and was named the game's number one star. Tom Lawson won his third straight game for HERSHEY Wednesday night, making 29 saves.
The Penguins are in Albany tonight while the BEARS play in south Philly. Tonight's game can be heard via the BEARS Radio Network. John Walton and injured BEARS defenseman Dean Arsene have the call of the action beginning at 6:45 p.m. HERSHEY is at home Saturday night against the Bridgeport Sound Tigers at GIANT Center at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are available at the GIANT Center box office, or by calling (717) 534-3911.
