Rochester Americans News Release

(Rochester, NY)... The Rochester Americans announced that tonight's American Hockey League game against the Cleveland Barons is a sell out. Fans unable to attend the game will be able to watch the contest LIVE on Time Warner Cable Channel 98.

Rochester hosts the Barons at 7:35 p.m. at The Blue Cross Arena at the Rochester War Memorial. The contest is the seventh of eight meetings between the two North Division foes. The Amerks will wear their Stars and Stripes jerseys and auction them off in a silent auction to benefit FOODLINK.

The last sellout at The Blue Cross Arena was on March 30, 2001 against the Springfield Falcons. The Amerks have only hit that mark twice since the renovation of the War Memorial in 1998. The other occasion was on April 7, 2000 against the Hartford Wolf*Pack.

The Amerks (48-12-4-6) currently lead the American Hockey League with 106 points and can clinch the North Division regular-season title this week. The formula is a combination of three points earned by Rochester and not earned by Manitoba. Rochester will then secure its first division championship since 2000-01. The Moose (39-21-3-7) trail the Amerks by 18 points, but can still get 108.
