Bear Down Friday at Kino Stadium August 23

The Tucson Padres have partnered up with the University of Arizona and Western Refining for Bear Down Friday with the Padres. It's Friday, August 23rd at 7:05 against the Tacoma Rainiers at Kino Stadium. Any fan who wears U of A attire in the spirit of Bear Down Friday will receive an exclusive $5 box seat offer...the regular price is $10! There will also be an alumni softball game prior to the Padres game from 5:30 - 6:30. Former U of A athletes like Amanda Beard, Joseph Blair, Corey Williams, Matt Muehlebach, John Fina, David Adams, George Arias, Annie Chandler Grevers, Darian Townsend, and more will participate. Head baseball coach Andy Lopez will throw out the ceremonial "first pitch". The Wildcats ticket staff will be on hand to give out football posters and answer any questions. Bear Down Friday is also presented by KGUN-9 and 1290 AM The Source.

The Tucson Padres are also honoring two youth teams that recently represented Tucson on a national stage. On Friday, the Rio Rico Junior Little League Baseball Champions will be the guests of honor at Kino Stadium and on Monday the Padres will host the Sunnyside Softball National Champions. Both games begin at 7:05 pm.
