
"BBQ & Baseball Bash" for Joan Roberts Foundation for Ovarian Cancer

KANNAPOLIS, NC (April 18, 2011) - The Kannapolis Intimidators, the Class âA' affiliate of the Chicago White Sox, will be hosting our third annual BBQ & Baseball Bash to benefit the Joan Roberts Foundation for Ovarian Cancer on Saturday, April 23 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
The bash will take place in the Fieldcrest Cannon Stadium parking lot prior to the Intimidators game against the West Virginia Power, which begins at 7:05 p.m. on Saturday. Those wishing to sample BBQ from the Bash can purchase a wristband at the stadium box office for only $5.00 with purchase of a game ticket. The Intimidators will donate all the proceeds from the wristbands sold to the Joan Roberts Foundation for Ovarian Cancer.
This year the BBQ & Baseball Bash will consist of 20 teams competing to be crowned BBQ king. Each team consists of cooks who believe their dishes are five-star quality, and all are looking forward to sharing their best BBQ recipes with you. So be sure to loosen up those belt buckles and get ready to enjoy some of the areas best baseball and cuisine, all in the name of a great cause.
The Joan Roberts Foundation for Ovarian Cancer was founded in 2004 in order to raise funds for the education and awareness of ovarian cancer. Its mission is "To bring comfort to women and their families that are going through this terrible disease." Donations can also be made online at www.joanrobertsfoundation.com.
This season the Intimidators are off to a 10-4 start and currently sit a half-game out of first place in the South Atlantic League Northern Division.
