
'Dads to Host Practice Walk for Relay for Life

HICKORY, NC - The Hickory Crawdads, South Atlantic League affiliate of the Texas Rangers, announced a special ticket deal and donation for the American Cancer Society's Relay For Life as well as a practice walk to be held at L.P. Frans Stadium before the Crawdads game against the Kannapolis Intimidators on Monday, May 2 at 7 p.m.
For the game that night, Relay For Life participants can purchase a box seat ticket for only $5 if they turn in a Relay For Life Ticket Voucher. Additionally, in conjunction with the Relay For Life Ticket Voucher, $4 of the $5 box seat purchase will be donated to the Relay For Life team of their choice. Also that night, all Relay For Life participants are welcome to take part in a pre-game practice walk on the warning track from 5:45-6:30 p.m (gates open at 5:30 p.m.). Participants in the pre-game walk will be given a FREE ticket to a future Crawdads game!
"The Crawdads appreciate the opportunity to partner with the American Cancer Society and have a night at the ballpark promoting their signature fundraising event of the year," General Manager Mark Seaman said. "Almost everyone on our staff has been touched by cancer in one way or another and this is a great way for the Crawdads to participate in the Relay For Life event. We look forward to seeing a number of teams on the warning track for the pregame 'practice' walk and we are excited about the prospect of donating money back to the individual teams that participate."
The American Cancer Society's Relay For Life will be held in Alexander and Burke counties on May 20th and then in Catawba and Caldwell counties on June 3rd.
