
Bayne, Kloess Promoted to Charlotte

WINSTON-SALEM, NC (MAY 30, 2011) - The Winston-Salem Dash announced today a trio of roster moves. RHP Cameron Bayne and RHP Brandon Kloess have both been promoted to AAA Charlotte, while LHP Matt Wickswat has been called up to AA Birmingham. There are no corresponding roster moves at this time.
Bayne came into the season ranked by Baseball America as the 29th-best prospect in the White Sox organization. He won his first two starts with Winston-Salem and took a no-hit bid into the seventh inning in his first outing on April 11 against Potomac. Overall this season he was 4-3 with a 3.83 ERA in nine starts with the Dash. Five of his nine starts were quality, including two of his last three. Bayne last started on May 25 against Lynchburg, when he got the win after five innings where he gave up four runs on four hits.
Kloess made 14 appearances out of the bullpen for the Dash and led the team with four saves. He was 1-2 with a 4.07 ERA. After allowing four earned runs in his first three appearances (4.2 innings pitched), Kloess proceeded to allow only four earned runs in his next 15 innings from April 21 until May 18. He split 2010 between low-A Kannapolis and Winston-Salem, making 13 appearances for the Dash. He was 1-2 with a 5.82 ERA in 17 innings last year.
Wickswat joined the Dash on April 27 from extended spring training. He gave up two runs in his time with Winston-Salem, both in one outing. In seven total appearances, he had an ERA of 1.38 in 13 innings. The two runs he allowed came on May 20 against Salem.
The Dash roster now sits at 22 players, three below the Carolina League limit.
