LOUISVILLE, Ky. - After Monday's contest between the Columbus Clippers (3-3) and Louisville Bats (2-4) was washed out, the clubs met for a pair of seven-inning games on Tuesday. The Bats took game one 1-0, but Columbus flipped the script with a 1-0 win in game two.

In game one Louisville shortstop Eugenio Suaraez gave the Bats a 1-0 lead with a leadoff home run in the top of the first. The solo blast to left was Suarez's first of the season and Louisville's fifth of the 2015 campaign.

Righty Jon Moscot (W, 1-0, 0.00 ERA) started the game for Louisville and shut out the Clippers over five and two thirds innings, allowing just three hits and two walks while striking out six.

Right-hander Carlos Contreras came on in relief of Moscot and struck out Columbus right fielder Carlos Moncrief with runners on first and second to end the Clippers threat in the sixth inning.

The Clippers put some pressure on the Bats again with back-to-back one-out singles in the ninth. But Elizabethtown, Ky. native, righty Nate Adcock (S, 1, 5.40 ERA), relieved Contreras and slammed the door for his first save as a member of the Bats.

Bruce Chen (L, 1-1, 0.75 ERA) took the loss for Columbus in game one, allowing the lone Louisville run on just two hits with three strikeouts.

Columbus returned the favor in game two as they took a one run lead in the fourth inning and never looked back.

In the top of the fourth Columbus center fielder Tyler Holt bunted for a single to lead off the frame. Later in the stanza Columbus first baseman Jesus Aguilar grounded into a double play, scoring Holt, to give Columbus a 1-0 lead.

Lefty David Holmberg (L, 0-2, 5.23 ERA) pitched admirably for the Bats in game two but took the loss, allowing one run on three hits and two walks with five strikeouts.

Right-hander Jordan Cooper (0-0, 0.00 ERA) started the game for Columbus and tossed four shut out innings with three strikeouts allowing just three hits and two walks, but was not eligible for the win because he did not pitch five complete innings.

Righty, Dustin Molleken (W, 1-0, 0.00) took the win for Columbus allowing one hit in two-thirds of an inning.

In his first two games with the Bats Chris Dominguez went a combined 0-for-5 on Tuesday. IF Ivan De Jesus Jr. was the only Bat to record a hit in both games, going 1-for-3 in both contests, while OF Tyler Holt was the only Clipper to do so, going 1-for-4 in game one and 1-for-3 in game two.

De Jesus Jr. extended his on-base streak to 11 consecutive games and 12 consecutive home games, dating back to last season.

The last time Louisville played back-to-back 1-0 games was on April 9th and 10th in 2007 when they beat Columbus in the first contest and lost to them in the second.

Louisville has been involved in four shutouts this season, going 2-2 in those games. The Bats did not play in their fourth shutout until May 15, 2014 at Norfolk.

The Bats head to Indianapolis Wednesday to begin a five-game split series with the Indians, the first three games at Victory Field. Righty Dylan Axelrod (0-0, 1.50 ERA) will toe the rubber for the Bats, and will square off against righty Adrian Sampson (0-1, 5.40 ERA).
