Bats over .500 with 3-2 Win

NORFOLK, Va.- The Louisville Bats (57-56) reached over .500 for the first time since they were 32-31 after play on June 13th, Wednesday at Harbor Park against the Norfolk Tides (64-46), 3-2.

In the sixth inning, Adam Duvall hit his third homerun in just four games with the Bats, breaking the current season record for most homeruns in the MiLB at 29 homeruns, and made the score, 3-1.

Righty Donn Roach (W, 2-1, 4.68) started on the mound for the Bats and took his second win this season. He went seven innings, gave up six hits, two runs, one earned, walked one, and struck out four.

On the mound for the Tides was lefty Chris Jones (L, 6-6, 3.08). He went six innings, gave up six hits, allowed three hits, all earned, and walked one, struck out seven, and gave up one homerun.

In the first inning, Brennan Boesch doubled his seventh of the season to score Juan Perez making it his fifth straight multi-hit game. Norfolk followed in the second after Michael Almanzar grounded out to score Rey Navarro to tie the game.

The Bats broke the tie in the fifth after Boesch grounded out to score Juan Silva to make the score, 2-1. After Duvall's homer, the Tides Almanzar scored off of Henry Urrutia sacrifice fly to make the game 3-2 in the seventh.

Righty Collin Balester (S, 5) finished the game in the ninth for the Bats and struck out one to earn the save.

Thursday the Bats finish their series at Harbor Park with the Norfolk Tides at 12:05 pm. Projected on the mound for the Bats is righty Matt Buschmann (2-4, 4.31) and for the Tides righty Elih Villanueva (1-1, 6.53).
