Bats Lose 4-0 in Nashville

NASHVILLE, TN - Five Nashville Sounds pitchers combined to toss a five-hit shutout in a 4-0 win over the Louisville Bats on Friday night at First Horizon Park.

Jason Alexander started for the Sounds and was superb over his five innings of work. Peter Strzelecki, Miguel Sánchez, Matt Hardy and Connor Sadzeck each followed with a scoreless inning of relief work to complete the shutout.

Mike Minor made a major league rehab start for the Bats and kept Nashville off the board until the bottom of the third inning, when Brice Turang singled home Andruw Monasterio.

The score remained 1-0 until the bottom of the fifth inning when Turang delivered his second RBI single of the game. Later in the inning, Tyler White hit a two-run home run to make it 4-0 Nashville.

Minor lasted 4.2 innings on the night, allowing four earned runs on nine hits. He struck out three and did not walk a batter. The 34-year-old has now allowed five total earned runs in 10.0 innings across his three rehab starts with the Bats.

Jose Barrero also began a major league rehab assignment with Louisville on Friday night. The 24-year-old went 0-4 with three strikeouts and played eight innings defensively at shortstop.

The penultimate game of this series between the Bats and Sounds is scheduled for 7:35 p.m. ET Saturday night at First Horizon Park. Reiver Sanmartin (0-1, 7.50 ERA) will start for Louisville, opposing Josh Lindblom (1-1, 2.58 ERA).
