Bats Fall 9-1 to Pawtucket

LOUISVILLE, Ky.- The Louisville Bats lost the first game of a series against the Pawtucket Red Sox, 9-1. The PawSox scored six runs in the third to secure the win.
Louisville right-hander Daniel Wright (1-1, 4.76) took the loss, pitching three innings, allowing six hits, seven runs, two home runs, one walk, one hit batter, while striking out four. Pawtucket starter Aaron Wilkerson (3-1, 2.03) earned the win, pitching seven innings, allowing a run on five hits, while walking two and striking out seven.
The PawSox were able to get the first run of the night in the first inning as Chris Marrero hit a sacrifice fly that scored Ryan LaMarre, to put the PawSox up 1-0.
Pawtucket was able to add six runs in the third as Ryan LaMarre and Chris Marrero both hit two-run homers. The PawSox added two more runs on a triple by Deven Marrero before the inning was over, to push the lead to 7-0.
The Bats' lone run of the game came in the sixth, with an RBI single by Scott Schebler, which also extended his hitting streak to 10 games.
The PawSox added one run in fifth and the seventh to pad their lead to 9-1.
The Bats will try to even the series tomorrow night as right-hander Keyvius Sampson (2-2, 1.83) will be on the mound for Louisville. Pawtucket will counter with right-hander Justin Haley (NR). First pitch will be at 6:05 p.m.
