
Bats and Bullpen Give Naturals Five Straight Wins

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - Ryan O'Hearn drove in three runs while the Naturals' bullpen tossed 4.2 shutout innings of relief to lead Northwest Arkansas to a 6-5 win over the Arkansas Travelers on Monday night at Dickey-Stephens Park. The victory gives Northwest Arkansas (16-14) five-straight wins and ties a franchise record set in 2008 for seven consecutive road victories.
O'Hearn led the offensive attack all night. The Frisco, Texas native drove in two runs in the second inning off Travelers' starter, Victor Alcantara, plating Logan Moon and Ramon Torres to extend the Naturals' 1-0 advantage to 3-0.
Northwest Arkansas trailed entering the top of the fifth inning, 4-3, and O'Hearn came through again driving in the tying run, Raul Mondesi, from first base on a double down the left-field line. O'Hearn scored three batters later on Zane Evans' two-out, RBI single making it a 5-4 game.
Arkansas (12-19) tied the game in the bottom of the fifth on a sacrifice fly by Wade Wass as left-hander, Eric Skoglund got the start and worked 4.1 innings, allowed five runs on nine hits with three stirkeouts. Right-hander, Benino Pruneda (2-2, 4.38) came in during the fifth inning and worked 2.2 innings of scoreless baseball with four strikeouts to earn the win.
The Naturals took the lead for good in the seventh inning with a run-scoring single by Orlando Calixte to plate Mondesi, giving Northwest Arkansas a 6-5 lead. The base-hit extended Calixte's hitting streak to seven games.
Right-hander, Andrew Edwards, notched a six-out save allowing one hits and striking out four to earn his second save in as many appearances.
O'Hearn led the offense with a 3-for-4 night with three runs batted in while Mondesi finished 3-for-4 on the evening.
The Naturals look to sweep the Travelers on Tuesday night and wrap up the first four-games of the eight-game road trip. Right-hander, Alec Mills (1-1, 2.76) takes the ball for the Naturals with right-hander, Troy Scribner (1-1, 4.50) going for Arkansas.
