Baseball America Ranks Blue Wahoos Stadium Second in All of MiLB
April 25, 2018 - Southern League (SL1)
Pensacola Blue Wahoos News Release
Pensacola, Fla. - Blue Wahoos Stadium has been highly praised since opening in 2012. It received more high marks Wednesday from Baseball America, the premiere baseball information publication. In an article of their top 10 must-see ballparks in Minor League Baseball, Blue Wahoos Stadium checks in at number two.
"We are thrilled to see that Baseball America sees Blue Wahoos Stadium as a top place to come," said Blue Wahoos President Jonathan Griffith. "This meets our mission to provide a great quality of life here in our community. The must see is our service and great food options along with our view."
The article puts the home of the Wahoos one spot behind the dazzling $54 Million BB&T Ballpark in Charlotte, N.C. It's home to the Chicago White Sox Triple-A affiliate, the Charlotte Knights. Blue Wahoos Stadium was built for just $18 Million. The article sites the breathtaking views of Pensacola Bay serving as the backdrop as a contributing factor for its high ranking.
Blue Wahoos Stadium has been recognized as Southern League Ballpark of the Year on three different occasions and has received acclaim from other national publications such as Ballpark Digest, USA Today and Ballpark Watch among others.
The park has played host to the Blue Wahoos and now also host the University of West Florida football team during the fall. Blue Wahoos Stadium is also the site for the popular Soul Bowl as well as other corporate and community events throughout the year.
