MOBILE, AL - Jesus Castillo shut down the M-Braves for seven innings allowing only one runner to reach base, on a hit by pitch in the second inning. He was doubled off one batter later to end the inning.

Mobile (10-9) got on the board with a solo homer by Wade Wass with one out in the fourth inning and it looked like that was all they would need. They did pick up a needed insurance run in the seventh when Bo Way drew a two out walk and scored two batters later on a single by Taylor Ward.

Mississippi (8-12) avoided the no hit shut out with a lead off double by Tyler Marlette in the top of the ninth. He advanced to third on a wild pitch and scored on a sacrifice fly by Alay Lago.

The starting pitcher for the M-Braves, Enderson Franco, pitched five solid innings allowing one run, the homer, on five hits with three walks and three strikeouts. Josh Graham struggled to find the strike zone in one and two-thirds innings allowing one run on no hits with five walks. Devan Watts threw the final one and one-third shutting out the BayBears giving up one hit and striking out one.

Mississippi returns home to Trustmark Park Thursday night to begin a five-game series against the Jackson Generals, the Double-A Affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks. The Braves will send RHP Kyle Wright (1-2, 2.45) to the mound and the Generals will counter with RHP Jon Duplantier (1-0, 3.60). First pitch will be 7:00 PM (CT).
