Jackson, Tenn. -- In coordination with the Arizona Diamondbacks, the Jackson Generals announced today the addition of outfielder Jay Gonzalez to their active roster. In a separate roster move, Generals infielder Marty Herum was placed on the 7-day disabled list at Jackson. Jackson's active roster now sits at 25 players. Gonzalez will be active today and is expected to be available for the Generals' game against Chattanooga.

Height/Weight: 5'9", 170 lbs.

Chosen by the Baltimore Orioles in the 2014 MLB Draft (Rd. 10) out of the University of Mount Olive (N.C.)

Acquired by the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2017 MiLB Rule 5 Draft

2017: 95 games between High-A Frederick and Double-A Bowie in Baltimore's farm system - .273 BA, 0 HR, 21 RBI; also totaled a .734 OPS, 31 stolen bases and 10 outfield assists
