Barry Brown Jr and Kelan Martin Spearhead Wolves Victory over Kings

Des Moines, Iowa - The Iowa Wolves (16-18) edged out a 133-129 victory over the Stockton Kings (17-15) Monday night at Wells Fargo Arena in a game that included 16 lead changes.

With the win the Wolves avoid a season sweep (1-2) by the Kings.

The duo of Barry Brown Jr. and Kelan Martin led the Wolves with 25 and 23 points respectively, shooting a combined 20-of-32 (62.5%) from the field.

Brown Jr. tied a season-high with 25 points while shooting 10-of-15 from the floor. The former Kansas State Wildcat also recorded five rebounds in the win.

Martin tied a team-high with eight rebounds and added five assists to go along with his 23-point performance.

As a team the Wolves tallied 88 points in the paint, marking a new season high.

Iowa managed to win despite shooting just 6-of-28 from long range, winning for the first time this season while converting 10 or less three-point shots.

Jaylen Johnson, Jordan Murphy and Lindell Wigginton all chipped in 14 points for Iowa on the evening.

Isaiah Canaan and Eric Mika held their own for the Kings, scoring 29 and 26 points respectively for Stockton. Mika tallied his 12th double-double of the season, hauling in 14 rebounds.

The Wolves hit the road for a three-game homestand beginning Wednesday evening against the Santa Cruz Warriors at 9:00 p.m. CT.
