Barons Roster Trimmed by Seven

Oklahoma City Barons News Release


Oklahoma City - The Oklahoma City Barons released seven players from their tryout agreements earlier today. Those players include forwards Mike Thomas, Jarret Lukin, James Livingston and Dave Bonk, defensemen Brennan Barker and Sean Erickson along with goaltender Wayne Savage.

Livingston will be returned to his junior team, the Plymouth Whalers of the Ontario Hockey League while Thomas will be returned to the Saint John Sea Dogs of the QMJHL. The other five have all signed to play in the Central Hockey League. Bonk and Lukin have signed to play with the Allen Americans, Barker and Erickson will play with the Tulsa Oilers and Savage has agreed to play with Texas.

The Barons season opener is this Saturday at home against the Houston Aeros. Faceoff is set for 7:05 p.m. at the Cox Convention Center. Tickets are available at all Ticketmaster outlets including the Cox Convention Center box office, online at ticketmaster.com or by phone at 1-800-745-3000.

NOTES: The Barons parent club, the Edmonton Oilers open their season tonight at home against their provincial rival, the Calgary Flames. Faceoff is 9 p.m. CDT from Rexall Place in Edmonton.
