
Barons Return To Regions Field For Five Game Series Against The Smokies

Birmingham, AL - The Birmingham Barons return to Regions Field on Sunday, August 18th to begin a five-game series against the Tennessee Smokies, Double-A Affiliate of the Chicago Cubs. There are only 10 regular season games left in the inaugural season at Regions Field where the Barons have gone 40-20.
This five-game homestand begins on Sunday as the Barons honor America's armed servicemen and women during Armed Forces Sunday presented by DRASH. In addition, St. Vincent's Health Systems and the American Heart Association will be sponsoring "Go Red" Night at Regions Field and will be giving away Go Red t-shirts to the first 500 adults in attendance. Fans will also have the opportunity to take a free blood pressure test during the game in the main concourse. Be aware that Sunday's game time has been pushed back an hour from the normal 3:00 PM start to 4:00 PM with gates opening at 2:30 PM.
The workweek begins with YP Mondays presented by YP and Highlands Digital Media who will be giving away a 42-inch LG TV during the game. The fun continues with 50-Cent Hot Dog Night on Tuesday presented by Kayem Foods, Mini of Birmingham and the Birmingham Zoo. Tuesday's are also Social Media Nights at Regions Field all season long! Connect with the Barons through Facebook, Twitter and Instagram while participating in interactive games, giveaways and promotions.
The series wraps up with Thirsty Thursday presented by Miller Lite and Woodbridge where fans can enjoy 16 oz. beverages for just $2. Fans can also participate in a Shrimp Boil courtesy of Cajun Steamer. Fans can enjoy a 1lb shrimp bowl with corn and potatoes for $15, a ½1b bowl for $9, a cup of jambalaya for $5 and cups of red beans and sausage for $5.
The Barons are returning to the playoffs as First Half North Division Champions. The Playoffs begin Thursday, September 5th at Regions field.
