Huntsville Stars News Release
Huntsville, AL - The Southern League office has released the 2014 schedule.
The Huntsville Stars will break spring training camp in Arizona for the team¡¦s 30th season in Huntsville and will fly into Orlando, FL. The team is tentatively scheduled to work out with the Milwaukee Brewers High-A affiliate Brevard County Manatees at Space Coast Stadium in Viera, FL. On Thursday, April 3rd, the Stars will travel north to Jacksonville, FL to begin the 2014 season against the Jacksonville Suns (Miami Marlins). The Stars home opener is scheduled for 6:43 pm on Wednesday, April 9th against the Pensacola Blue Wahoos (Cincinnati Reds).
Highlights of the 2014 schedule include home games on:
âh Saturday, May 17th (Armed Forces Day)
âh Monday, May 26th (Memorial Day)
âh Sunday, June 15th (Father¡¦s Day)
âh Friday, July 4th (Independence Day)
âh Monday, September 1st (Labor Day)
The regular season will conclude on Monday, September 1st. The 2014 Southern League All-Star Game will be held on Tuesday, June 17th, at AT&T Field in Chattanooga. The upcoming season will be the 50th anniversary of the modern Southern League and the league will officially induct members into its new Hall of Fame at the festivities in Chattanooga. All 2014 Southern League Game times will be determined no later than February 1st, 2014. Times posted on the attached schedule are tentative and subject to change.
