Trevor Miller Activated from DL, Dowd Transferred to A+ High Desert

Jackson, Tenn - The Seattle Mariners made the following roster moves today that affects the Jackson Generals roster prior to today's home game against the Montgomery Biscuits.

. RHP Trevor Miller has been reinstated from the disabled list

. C Mike Dowd has been transferred to A+ High Desert

MILLER, 22, was placed on the DL after his last start in Mississippi last Wednesday, giving up five runs on 10 hits over seven innings. In 4 Jackson starts Miller is 1-1, with a 6.26 ERA. Miller was 4-7 with a 4.82 ERA in 18 starts for A+ High Desert prior to joining the Generals. Miller was the Mariners' 40th round draft choice in 2011 out of San Joaquin Delta College in Stockton, CA.

Dowd, 23, joined the team on May 23 from High Desert and has played in 35 games with Jackson. He is hitting .198 with a home run and three RBIs. He has the best percentage in the Southern League for throwing out base runners at 56 percent (20-for-36). Dowd has been in the Mariners farm system for three years accruing a .258 average. He was selected by Seattle in the 12th round of the 2011 draft out of Franklin Pierce University in New Hampshire.
