Game 23 | Road Game 9 | AHL Game 334

Broadcast: KXY 96.1 FM
TONIGHT: A 5-game road trip continues with the Barons' first regular-season visit to Cedar Park Center to face the Texas Stars (Dallas Stars). OKC split a pair of games at Lake Erie to begin the trip, winning in overtime on Friday 3-2 before dropping Saturday afternoon's game 5-3. Saturday's loss ended the Barons' 3-game winning streak and 5-game road winning streak. The Barons have a win and a shootout loss against Texas in 2 games this month at the Cox Center. OKC is third in the West, 1 point back of Peoria and 3 behind San Antonio.
SATURDAY LEFTOVERS: The Barons' 5-3 loss on Saturday at Lake Erie featured a 6-goal third period, with each team contributing 3. Lake Erie's 3-goal third matched the most allowed by OKC in a period this year, joining two other occasions. The Barons out-shot the Monsters 31-18, limiting the Monsters to 3 shots in the second period and 5 in the third. Lake Erie's 18 shots matched the fewest against the Barons in a game this season.
PENALTY KILLER: OKC's penalty killing percentage dropped from No. 1 to No. 5 in the AHL after allowing 3 Lake Erie power play goals in 5 chances on Saturday. The 3 power play goals against were the most allowed by the Barons this season and marked just the third time an opponent had scored more than 1 in a game. OKC enters tonight having killed off 88 percent of its times short. The rate was 90.3 entering Saturday. In road games prior to Saturday, the Barons had allowed just 3 power play goals in 35 times short. Lake Erie matched that total with its 3-for-5 afternoon.
MCDONALD APPROACHES NEW HEIGHTS: Colin McDonald brings a 4-game goal streak into tonight's game, having lit the lamp 5 times in those 4 games. McDonald's streak is the league's longest active goal string and is tied for the second-best this season behind a 5-gamer for Charlotte's Zac Dalpe earlier this month. McDonald has 11 goals in 22 games and is closing in on his career high of 13 for a season. He set the career best last year with 12 for Springfield and 1 for the Edmonton Oilers.
REDDOX AMONG LEADERS: Liam Reddox is part of a 4-way tie for the AHL lead in shorthanded goals with 3. He's fifth in the league in shots with 95. At +10, Reddox is in a large group tied for 10th in plus minus. The leader is Hershey's Andrew Gordon at +14. Until being -1 in Saturday's loss at Lake Erie, Reddox had gone a team-best 13 consecutive games without being a minus player.
PETRY PATTER: Rookie defenseman Jeff Petry has 2 goals, 3 assists, 13 shots and a combined +5 rating in the past 6 games after dipping to a -12 through on Nov. 9. The Michigan State product has 4 goals for the season, matching the combined total of all other Barons blueliners.
TIDBITS: Ryan O'Marra (upper body) has missed 3 straight...defenseman Richard Petiot (lower body) has missed 7 straight games and is not on the trip...Jeff Deslauriers has started 5 straight in net since the promotion of Martin Gerber to Edmonton.
