THE WEEK THAT WAS:

Wednesday, Albany 0 at Wilkes-Barre/Scranton 3

The Devils' pursuit of three-straight wins was halted with a 3-0 loss at first-place Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Wednesday at the Mohegan Sun Arena. Special teams played a key role as the Devils failed on five power-play attempts, while the Penguins found the back of the net on the power play and with a man down. Dustin Jeffrey led the way with a goal and an assist. Dave Caruso made his season debut in goal, supplying 40 minutes of relief and making 21 stops.

Jeff Frazee left after 20 minutes after being rattled by a shot high off his body near the end of the first period. He allowed two goals on eight shots.

Friday, Albany 2 at Manchester 7

A fast start paced the Monarchs to a 7-2 victory against the Devils Friday at the Verizon Wireless Arena. Manchester, which scored three goals in the first period, was led by Brayden Schenn's two goals and an assist. David McIntyre and Adam Henrique scored for the Devils. McIntyre's goal came shorthanded at 11:34 of the second to make it 4-1 and Henrique scored at 12:20 of the third to make it 6-2. Dave Caruso stopped 28-of-35 shots.

Saturday, Albany 4 vs. Binghamton 3

The Devils used three goals in the first 20 minutes to help produce a 4-3 victory Saturday at the Times Union Center. Vladimir Zharkov, David McIntyre and Patrick Davis all scored in the first. After two consecutive goals by the Senators, Matt Anderson tallied the eventual game-winner on the power-play at 11:42 of the third. Dave Caruso earned the win in goal, making 31 saves.

NOTABLES:

-- Albany's 4-3 win against Binghamton on Saturday was its first victory at the Times Union Center since a 2-1 win against Charlotte on Oct. 20.

-- Patrick Davis tied the franchise record for career points when he scored in the Devils 4-3 win against Binghamton Saturday night. Davis' 110 points with the Devils is even with Niclas Bergfors' total between 2006-09. In five seasons with the Devils, Davis has registered 42 goals and 68 assists.

-- With the recall of Mike McKenna to New Jersey and an injury to Jeff Frazee, Dave Caruso has assumed the role of number one goaltender in Albany. He made 31 saves and was the first star in the Devils' 4-3 win against Binghamton on Saturday. It was Caruso's first AHL victory since Nov. 22, 2008.

-- Matt Anderson and Vladimir Zharkov lead the team in scoring with 13 and 12 points, respectively. Both players scored against Binghamton. For Anderson, it was his team-leading eighth goal of the season, while Zharkov earned his fifth tally ‚¬" tied for second on the team.

-- David McIntyre netted a pair of goals against Adirondack on opening night and then had 16 goal-less games before scoring a shorthanded goal at Manchester Friday and tallying a goal against Binghamton Saturday. He is tied with Adam Henrique for third on the team with 10 points.

-- The New Jersey Devils have had nine players make their NHL debut this season ‚¬" the most ever in club history (8, 1985-86 and 1991-92). The nine players: Mark Fayne, Stephen Gionta, Jacob Josefson, Olivier Magnan, Brad Mills, Matt Taormina, Mattias Tedenby, Alexander Urbom, Alexander Vasyunov.
