Cleveland Barons News Release
CLEVELAND - The Cleveland Barons announced today that goaltender Seamus Kotyk and forward Grant Stevenson were assigned from San Jose. Wayne Thomas, General Manager of the Cleveland Barons, made the announcement.
Kotyk, 22, will return for his third season with the Barons. The 5'11", 175-pound goaltender from London, ON posted a 7-22-2 record in 2002-03 with a .890 save percentage. His two shutouts during the 02-03 season were the most on the team. Kotyk ranks second on the Barons all-time list for shutouts with three.
Stevenson, 21, is in his first season of professional hockey. The 5'11", 170-pound center played at Minnesota State-Mankato last season. As a sophomore in 2002-03, Stevenson posted 63 points, which was the fifth highest total in the nation. His effort led to his selection to the 2002-03 Jofa Second Team All-American. Stevenson is the grandson of Hall of Fame goaltender Glen Hall.
Both Kotyk and Stevenson will open camp with the Barons at Barons Arena on Monday, September 29th at 10:00am.
The Barons open up the season at home on October 11th at 7:00pm. Group tickets for the game are now available by calling the Barons ticket staff at 216-420-0000.
