Barons and Browns to Host 'Pigskin on the Pond II'

CLEVELAND, OH - The Cleveland Barons and Cleveland Browns announced today that "Pigskin on the Pond II", an event designed to raise money for Cleveland Barons Charities and the Cleveland Browns Foundation, will take place on Friday, December 5th at 7:00pm at Gund Arena. Michael T. Lehr, President, Cleveland Barons, and Carmen Policy, President and C.E.O., Cleveland Browns, made the announcement.

For the second consecutive season, two dollars from every ticket sold to "Pigskin on the Pond II" will be split and donated to the Cleveland Browns Foundation and Cleveland Barons Charities. In addition, the Cleveland Barons will donate tickets to the Cleveland Browns Foundation for their Dream Seats program. Dream Seats is a reward-based program giving children the opportunity to set and fulfill their goals. Children between the ages of nine and sixteen who make a commitment to refrain from substance abuse, and teach others about the dangers of these substances will earn a seat to the December 5th Barons game.

The Barons will wear an alternate sweater for the special event. The sweater will be solid brown with white numbering and triple white and orange stripes on the sleeves. They will be worn with black pants and brown socks with triple white and orange stripes on the calves.

Several Cleveland Browns alumni are expected to attend, including: Herman Arvie, Issac Booth, Jamie Caleb, Ben Davis, Ricky Feacher, Judson Flint, Herman Fontenot, Jim Houston, Dante Lavelli, Cleo Miller, Sam Palumbo, and Sam Tidmore.

"Pigskin on the Pond" will kick-off a weekend of festivities celebrating the return of Monday Night Football to Cleveland. It marks the first MNF telecast from Cleveland since October 2nd, 1995 against the Buffalo Bills. The Pittsburgh Steelers hosted the Browns on MNF on November 13th, 1995.

"We are extremely excited to continue our relationship with the Cleveland Browns and the Cleveland Browns Foundation," stated Lehr. "Last year's event was a tremendous success and was a lot of fun for the fans. We will build upon last season and create an even more festive atmosphere."
