LOOKING AHEAD:
A busy weekend in the AHL kicks off on Friday afternoon with Lowell hosting Manchester (2:00 ET). The Lock Monsters have a 5-2-1-0 record on home ice this season, but one of the losses was a 6-3 decision to the Monarchs on Oct. 24. Lowell snapped a four-game winless skid with a win in Worcester on Wednesday, behind 37 saves from Patrick DesRochers. Manchester is coming off a 4-2 loss in Hartford that dropped the Monarchs two points out of first place in the Atlantic Division. Pavel Rosa scored twice in defeat, giving him a point in seven of the last eight games (4g, 6a).
Bridgeport's last loss was a 3-2 overtime decision at home against Hartford on Oct. 24. Friday night (7:35 ET), the Wolf Pack are back at Harbor Yard looking to derail the Sound Tigers' 11-game unbeaten streak. Bridgeport extended the streak with its seventh straight win on Thursday, as Jeff Hamilton scored his league-leading 14th goal of the season and Cail MacLean snapped a tie with 2:41 to go in regulation for a 5-4 victory at Binghamton. Hartford scored three times in the second period of Wednesday's 4-2 win over Manchester, the Pack's second win in their last six games.
Milwaukee heads to San Antonio for games Friday and Saturday (7:00 CT). The Admirals have lost three in a row heading into this three-game road trip, while the Rampage have a mark of 2-0-2-0 under new head coach Scott Allen and are unbeaten in five (3-0-2) overall. Eric Beaudoin ranks among the AHL's leaders with 15 assists (T-2nd), 21 points (T-3rd) and three game-winning goals (T-4th) for San Antonio, and Travis Scott is leads the league with 10 victories in net. Milwaukee is already 3-0-0 in the state of Texas this season, including a 3-2 win at the SBC Center on Nov. 7.
New Canadian rivals Toronto and Manitoba meet for the first time this weekend in a pair of nationally-televised games Saturday and Sunday (2:30 CT, 3:30 ET). The Moose enter play with a three-game winning streak, matching the number of victories they posted in their first 17 contests, and Alex Auld has stopped 82 of 86 shots in the three games. The Roadrunners head to Winnipeg after closing out a home-and-home with Hamilton on Friday, trying to climb out of last place in the North Division. Jamie Wright enters the weekend as Toronto's leader with eight goals and 14 points on the season.
