August 20, 2015 - Atlantic League (AtL)
Lancaster Stormers News Release

The Lancaster Barnstormers continue to alternate wins and losses. Thursday night was the off night.

Camden struck for three runs in the middle innings, and four relievers held the lead as the Riversharks gained a split of the four-game series at Campbell's Field with a 5-3 triumph in the finale.

Luke Hughes gave Lancaster its only lead of the night, a 2-1 edge, with a two-run homer in the second inning. Lancaster reloaded with a single and a walk, but Danny Herrera struck out Zach Collier to end the threat.

Camden jumped ahead in the fourth. The rally started when Brandon Chaves slapped a ball off the foot of starter Chad Beck (3-2) and beat it out for an infield single. Paddy Matera, who slugged a homer to left in the first inning, beat out a bunt up the third base line to tie the game. Carlos Guzman rolled a single up the middle to tie the game, still with no one out. Beck fought back to retire Joel Guzman on a pop up to first and Daniel Rockett on strikes around a walk to Ryan Strieby. The big right-hander worked ahead of Jose Gil, 1-2, but lost him on a walk to force in the lead run at the height of rainshowers that plagued the game's first five innings.

A sacrifice fly by Carlos Guzman in the fifth stretched the lead to 4-2. Chaves' RBI double to left in the seventh scored Evan Crawford for a 5-2 advantage.

Lancaster picked up a run in the top of the eighth. Collier walked against Rob Bryson and took second on a balk. Anderson Feliz singled through the right side to get the tying run to the plate with no one out. Lancaster only managed an infield single by Brian Cavazos-Galvez over the rest of the inning and went down 1-2-3 against Matt Gorgen, who earned his 25th save, in the ninth.

The Barnstormers head to Southern Maryland on Friday. Lancaster will send lefty Bryan Morgado (4-6) to the hill against southpaw Brian Burres (6-8). Fans may tune into 1390-AM, WLAN; rumba1390.com or the I Heart Radio cell phone app, beginning at 6:45.

NOTES: Lancaster managed only six runs on 14 hits in the final 30 2/3 innings of the series...The Barnstormers are 6-0-4 in series in the second half.
