Davenport, IA - Corey Julks grounded a single through the right side of the infield to score Jonathan Arauz from second base as the Quad Cities River Bandits walked off with a 5-4 win over the Peoria Chiefs on Monday night at Modern Woodmen Park.

The River Bandits struck first in the third inning. Bryan De La Cruz led off with a line drive single to left. Jonathan Lacroix followed by drawing a walk to put two on with no outs. After a fly out from Jake Meyers, Jonathan Arauz split the gap with a line drive double to right. De La Cruz scored easily to give the River Bandits a 1-0 advantage, while Lacroix was thrown out at the plate.

Peoria battled back against reliever Enoli Paredes to tie the game in the sixth inning. Zach Kirtley singled with one out and managed to come all the way around from first on a double off the glove of left fielder Jonathan Lacroix by Julio Rodriguez.

The game remained tied until the eighth inning when the Bandits busted out for three runs. The inning began with back-to-back singles from Julks and Miguelangel Sierra before a fielder's choice grounder off the bat of Jake Adams left men on the corners with one out. Michael Papierski rolled a double inside the bag at third to plate a run and give the Bandits a 2-1 lead. Colton Shaver followed with a double of his own down the left field line to score two more and increase the lead to 4-1.

In the top of the ninth, Bryce Denton led off with a double against River Bandits relief pitcher Juan Robles. Three consecutive one-out singles allowed two runs to score and the Chiefs closed within 4-3. With two outs, Julio Rodriguez ripped a double off of the wall in left to tie the score and leave runners on second and third. Robles stranded the go-ahead run at third when J.R. Davis popped out to first.

The bottom of the inning began with a strikeout by Meyers. Arauz reached base with a double in front of the diving left fielder Denton to move into scoring position. Julks immediately followed with a groundball out of the reach of second baseman Irving Lopez that plated Arauz and sparked a celebration behind the first base bag.

The River Bandits finished with 11 hits as a team. Arauz, Julks, and Papierski each had two. Arauz finished with multiple hits for the sixth time in his last eight games.

River Bandits starter Leovanny Rodriguez continued his exceptional start with the Bandits. He dealt 5.0 scoreless innings and allowed just two hits. He walked three and struck out a pair. In three appearances with the team, Rodriguez has worked 14.0 innings and allowed just one run. Paredes backed him up with 2.2 innings out of the bullpen during which he allowed one run on three hits with two walks and a strikeout.
