Quad Cities River Bandits News Release

Due to heavy rains in southern Wisconsin, Friday night's scheduled game between the Quad Cities River Bandits and Beloit Snappers at Pohlman Field has been postponed.

The rainout will be made up as part of a doubleheader on Saturday. The twin bill will begin at 5:30 p.m. and consist of two seven-inning games.

During Saturday's doubleheader, the River Bandits will once again try to make manager Steve Dillard the winningest skipper in franchise history. Currently sitting on 209 career wins, Dillard is on the verge of breaking Jeff Carter's record of 210 wins set while managing the Quad City River Bandits from 2001-2003.

UP NEXT: The River Bandits continue the final series of the first half on Saturday with a 5:30 p.m. doubleheader against the Beloit Snappers at Pohlman Field. After breaking for the All-Star Game on June 23, Quad Cities will return to Modern Woodmen Park on June 25 to open the second half of the 2009 season with an eight-game homestand against Kane County and Burlington. It starts with $2 draft beers and fountain Pepsi products on a Thirst-day Thursday, while Chicago Bears Hall of Famer and Super Bowl XX MVP Richard Dent will be on hand Friday to sign autographs before a Fireworks Friday lights up the night sky. Autism Night follows on a Rockin' Saturday, as fans will receive Hillary Clinton bobblehead dolls pre-game, have the opportunity to purchase special-edition game-worn jerseys during an in-game jersey auction, and enjoy a live concert by VodkaSeven post-game. The weekend series concludes with a Pepsi Youth Jersey giveaway on another Tailz ‘Er Waggin' Dog Day of Summer, also a U.S. Bank Family Sunday!
