LANSING, Mich. - Third baseman Balbino Fuenmayor's two-run home run broke a 2-2 seventh inning tie and lifted the Lansing Lugnuts (10-19) to a 6-3 victory over the Beloit Snappers (11-18) on Mother's Day at Oldsmobile Park.

With one out in the bottom of the seventh, Snappers starter Michael Allen (0-4) walked Jon Talley. Fuenmayor followed with his first home run of the year, a drive to the opposite field that landed high atop the lawn area behind the wall in right-center.

RBI singles from Tyler Pastornicky and Brian Van Kirk soon followed in the seventh inning, helping the Lugnuts avoid the three-game sweep at home.

Lansing won despite issuing 12 walks in the ballgame, including four to Beloit second baseman Nicholas Romero and three to catcher Allen de San Miguel.

The Snappers offense went 1-for-17 with runners in scoring position.

Yorman Mayora (1-0), the third of five Lugnuts pitchers, earned the victory with 1 1/3 innings of relief, allowing a run on three walks and a base hit. Matt Daly recorded the final three outs for his fourth save of the season in as many chances.

The game was a scoreless deadlock until the bottom of the sixth inning when Lansing right fielder Yohermyn Chavez dropped a broken-bat two-out two-run single into center field.

Beloit tied the score in the seventh when a ground ball went under the glove of first baseman Mike McDade, allowing two runs to score.

Lansing is off on Monday before traveling to South Bend, Indiana, for a four-game series beginning on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. Ryan Koch (0-2, 7.71) gets the start for the Lugnuts against Ryan Cook (4-0, 2.61) of the Silver Hawks.
