Bakersfield Jam Use Balanced Attack to Down Reno Bighorns

BAKERSFIELD, CA - The Bakersfield Jam (2-2) used balance scoring to oust the Reno Bighorns (1-2) 154-143 Friday night at the Dignity Health Event Center.

The Jam bench led the way to the start the game as they scored 22 of Bakersfield's 37 first quarter points, led by Earl Barron's 11 points and seven rebounds. Robert Vaden, also a reserve for the Jam, had a 12-point second quarter performance and helped the Jam go into the half with a 75-70 lead.

In the second half, both teams shot lights out from the field as Bakersfield shot 61.2% while Reno shot 57.1%. The biggest difference came in the final frame when the Jam went on a 32-14 run and had their biggest lead (138-124) late in the game. Bakersfield ended up outscoring the Bighorns 48-39 in the fourth quarter to take the home victory.

Xavier Munford had a game-high 31 points, while Mac Koshwal finished with 28 points and eight rebounds. Elijah Millsap chipped in 26 points, seven rebounds and seven assists. Barron and Vaden each tallied 15 points off the bench. Renaldo Major (12) and Chris Wright (10) also scored in double-figures as reserves.

The Bighorns were paced by Ra'shad James (25 points) and Brady Heslip (23 points). Tajuan Porter contributed 18 points and nine assists off the bench.

The Jam will next have a match-up against the Santa Cruz Warriors on Tuesday, November 25 at 7:00 p.m. PT in Bakersfield.
