Baker Plays the Hero in Sens' 6-5 Win

Darren Baker drove in two runs with a walk off double in the bottom of the tenth inning giving the Senators a 6-5 win over the Akron RubberDucks Wednesday night at FNB Field. Akron had taken the lead in the top of the inning with two outs. Baker's double came with one out in the inning. Earlier in the game, Wilson Garcia singled to extend his hitting streak to 17 games.

Four different pitchers toed the slab Wednesday night for the Senators. Alex Troop started and went 5.2 innings allowing two runs on four hits. He walked four and struck out two. Andrew Lee followed going just two-thirds of an inning allowing a run. Jose Ferrer pitched 1.2 innings and allowed a run on three hits, a home run in the eighth inning to tie the game. Zach Brzykcy pitched a perfect ninth inning and then allowed the placed runner to score in the tenth inning. Brzykcy became the winner when the Sens won in the last of the tenth inning.

Baker had two hits and scored once. Trey Harris had two hits and scored a run. Jackson Cluff had two hits including a double and drove in a run. Omar Meregildo hit a two-run home run and had a sacrifice fly in the game. The home run was his sixth since joining the Senators.

The walk off was the seventh this season for the Senators. Harrisburg went 3-for-14 with runners in scoring position and left 13 on the bases. Akron went 2-for-12 and stranded eight.
