
Baker Outstanding in 1-0 Win

Lake County Captains News Release
(Eastlake, OH) - RHP Dylan Baker started the ballgame for Lake County (6-5). Baker earned the win over Fort Wayne (3-7) after pitching eight innings of shutout baseball. Baker (5-5), allowed just two hits and one walk. Baker twirled a no hitter through six innings and struck out four. Josh Martin earned his second save of the season by pitching a scoreless ninth. The Captains won the game 1-0.
The Captains only run in the ballgame was produced in the bottom of the third inning. Todd Hankins walked and Dorssys Paulino tripled home Hankins to make the score 1-0. The Captains made the run hold up as that was the final.
Fort Wayne started RHP Bryan Rodriguez (3-3). Rodriguez took a tough loss. He pitched five innings and allowed just four hits and one earned run. He walked one and struck out four. Matthew Shepherd pitched the final three innings for Fort Wayne and didn't allow a run.
Monday is Buck Night, presented by PNC, featuring $1 Five Star Brand Hot Dogs, Dan Dee chips, French fries, popcorn, soda and beer. Also, fans receive a $1 discount on their tickets or $2 off their tickets if they use a PNC Bank debit or credit card. Game time is 7:00 PM.
In addition to great food offers, the Captains will celebrate Canada's favourite pastime not played on ice with a Salute to Canadian Baseball on Monday which as every American knows is Canada Day for our friends up north.
On this date, fans who wear an Expos or Blue Jays cap will be admitted free to the game, because like all Canadians, we are welcoming of all individuals to Classic Park. Upon entering the stadium for their big night "ooot", fans will receive a Blue Jays and Expos baseball card depicting past players who donned the uniforms of these two iconic clubs. Throughout the game, the Captains will give away Canadian Baseball prizes to fans who are holding specific player.
In-game promotions will include a trivia contest that will last throughout the game with the winner receiving a grand prize including two tickets to a Blue Jays game in Toronto. In addition to exciting trivia action, other promotions will include a Maple Syrup Chugging contest and Canadian Tuxedo Denim Shirt toss.
In addition, fans who show their passports at Castaway's Bar may purchase half-price Molson beverages while fans may also purchase $1 beers until 9 PM when paying with a Canadian Loonie. The Captains will also be offering food specials featuring Canadian Bacon and and ode to Montreal's famous Gravy Fries.
While enjoying the sounds of a special French-speaking Public Address Announcer, fans will also be encouraged to sign a petition to encourage the election of one of baseball's all-time base stealers, Tim Raines, to the National Baseball Hall of Fame.
Lake County will conclude a three game series against the Fort Wayne TinCaps on Monday. The Captains will start RHP Luis Dejesus (2-8, 6.06). The TinCaps will start RHP Joe Ross (3-2, 3.24) First Pitch will be at 7:00PM from Classic Park.
