BINGHAMTON, NY - The Binghamton Mets overcame a two-run deficit and snapped a seven-game losing streak in a 3-2 win over the Altoona Curve Wednesday night at NYSEG Stadium. The B-Mets plated two runs in the eighth inning and ended their nine-game home losing streak in front of a sold-out crowd of 6,481, the 14th largest in NYSEG Stadium history.

Trailing by one entering the eighth, Eric Campbell started the rally by walking to start the frame against reliever Jeff Inman. Allan Dykstra followed with a single to right and Jefry Marte loaded the bases with a walk.

Campbell scored the tying run when Dustin Martin beat out a double play on a ground ball to second. With runners at the corners and the infield playing back, Francisco Pena sent a chopper to short and beat out the double play, allowing the go-ahead run to score.

Altoona packed all of their offense into the fourth, plating a pair of runs against starter Darin Gorski. Robbie Grossman scored from third to give the Curve the lead, coming home when Gorski uncorked a wild pitch while intentionally walking Jeremy Farrell. Ramon Cabrera doubled the lead with a sac fly.

It was the only inning in which Gorski faced more than three batters. The lefty plowed through six innings, allowing two runs on three hits in the no-decision. He struck out six and snuck a bunt up the third base line in the fifth inning for his first pro hit.

Binghamton cut the lead in the half with a two-out rally in the fourth. Martin singled through the hole on the left side against Altoona starter Brandon Cumpton and promptly stole second. Wilfredo Tovar drove him home by dumping a double into the left field corner.

The score remained locked at 2-1 into the bottom of the eighth inning thanks to Brad Holt and Adrian Rosario. Holt took over for Gorski and worked a perfect seventh. Rosario worked around a one-out walk in a shutout eighth.

Cumpton exited after the fifth inning with chance to earn the win. Logan Kensing preserved the lead with two shutout innings before Kensing coughed up the advantage in the eighth.

Given a one-run edge, closer Robert Carson entered in the ninth. He allowed a single to start the frame to Grossman, but bounced back to retire the next three batters, securing his seventh save of the year.

Rosario (1-1) earned his first win at Double-A, while Inman (1-2) was saddled with the loss and his first blown save. Outside of Grossman's three hits, the rest of the Curve lineup combined to go 1-for-21 at the plate.

The B-Mets (37-45) hit the road for a six-game roadtrip leading up to the All-Star Break. Their trek begins against the Richmond Flying Squirrels Wednesday night at 6:35 PM. RHP Greg Peavey takes the mound for Binghamton against RHP Craig Westcott. The Horizons Federal Credit Union pre-game show begins at 6:20 PM on Newsradio 1290 WNBF.
