Gates to Open Early for Big Fourth in Curve, PA

CURVE, Pa. - In anticipation of the largest crowd of the season on Wednesday, July 4 at Peoples Natural Gas Field, the Altoona Curve encourage fans to arrive at the ballpark early and take advantage of early entrance times to ensure a fun and fan-friendly experience on Independence Day in Curve, Pa.
While Wednesday's start time is a regularly scheduled 7 p.m. first pitch, the Curve will open gates for the series opener with the Reading Phillies early. Season ticket holders will be able to enter the ballpark at 5:30 p.m. with gates opening to all fans at 5:45 p.m.
Fans are encouraged to arrive at the ballpark early to avoid as much congestion as possible. In addition to the Curve's Fourth of July festivities, neighboring Lakemont Park will also be open on Wednesday with a large crowd expected at the amusement park, as well. To ensure fans can find adequate parking, the Curve suggest those attending Wednesday's game to make their way to the area early.
The Curve host Reading on a packed Independence Day at the ballpark. Altoona's players will be donning special red, white, and blue, star-spangled hats for the evening, and those caps will be auctioned off to fans during the night's affair. Also during the game, Nuts for You will also be doing a $1,000 Sheetz Gas Card Giveaway to one lucky fan who purchases a bag of nuts at the Nuts For You stand, and the winner will be announced after the seventh inning. After the contest, the Curve will blast off an extended Fourth of July Postgame Fireworks show thanks to Pennsylvania Lottery, and kids will be able to run the bases.
