LAST GAME: The B-Mets pushed their winning streak to five games with a 6-1 win over Portland Tuesday night at Hadlock Field. Gabriel Ynoa allowed a run in seven innings for his first win in seven starts. Eudy Pina homered for the
second straight game, while Brock Peterson had another multiple-RBI game.
BINGHAMTON STARTER: RHP Luis Cessa is making his 11th start of the year and the third of his career against Portland. He has allowed 10 hits and one run in his last three starts combined, spanning 19.2 innings. He has walked two while striking out 15 during that time. 10 of the 19 runs Cessa has allowed have come in the first two innings. Seven have been surrendered in the fifth inning of his starts. He shut out the Sea Dogs over six innings at NYSEG Stadium on May 28.
PORTLAND STARTER: RHP Heri Quevedo is making his third start with Portland and the first of his career against Binghamton. Both of his first two starts came against Bowie, with Quevedo allowing seven runs in 2.1 innings in his last time out. It's his third year in Boston's system and his first at the Double-A level. The righty is 12-11 with a 5.26 in 41 career appearances, 27 starts.
OFFENSIVE AWAKENING: Binghamton has scored four or more runs in 12 of their last 14 games, including seven of their last eight. The B-Mets reached the four run total in two of their previous 10 games.
WIN STREAK: Binghamton has won five in a row for the second time this season. A win Wednesday would match Binghamton's longest winning streak of the season, April 26 - May 2.
GETTING ON THE GOOD FOOT: Binghamton has scored first in five of their last six wins. Overall, the B-Mets are 21-8 when scoring before their opponents this season.
POWER SURGE: Eudy Pina went 86 games without a home run, before homering in each of the past two games. He has homered in back-to-back games for the first time since June 26-28, 2014 with St. Lucie (High-A).
RISP: Opponents are hitting .129 (4-31) with RISP during the B-Mets current five game winning streak.
HADLOCK FIELD: The B-Mets have won six straight games at Hadlock Field, including the final two games of last year's Eastern Division Championship Series. They have scored six runs or more in all four games in Portland this season, outscoring the SeaDogs 32-12.
STEADY AS A BROCK: Brock Peterson has 13 RBI in his first nine games with Binghamton. He has driven in multiple runs in five of his nine games. Peterson has hit with men on-base in 21 of his 33 at-bats, batting .476 in those situations.
FIRST IMPRESSION: Michael Conforto has reached base in all 15 games played with the B-Mets, recording a base hit in 13 of them, including his last six. Conforto has also drawn 13 walks through his first 15 games, including atleast one in 10.
STARTING ROTATION: The B-Mets starting rotation has pitched to a 1.61 ERA during Binghamton's five game winning streak.
GETTING OVER THE HUMP: Binghamton is 1-7 on Wednesday's this year, their worse mark for any day of the week. Binghamton has lost their last six Wednesday's games. Their lone win was at Hadlock Field, April 29.
