New Hampshire Fisher Cats News Release
MANCHESTER, N.H. - The Fisher Cats return home on Friday to open up a four-game series with the Binghamton Mets, the New York Mets' Double-A affiliate, and then their first series of 2015 with the Portland Sea Dogs, the Red Sox' Double-A affiliate. The following is a look at what's happening at the ballpark as well as some top prospects the opposition is bringing to town.
June 19-22
OPPONENT - BINGHAMTON METS
Through June 14, the Mets were 32-30, sitting in fourth place in the Eastern Division. This is the second home series and fourth overall between the teams this season. New Hampshire owns a 6-5 record against the Mets, including a 3-1 mark at home.
PROSPECTS TO WATCH
Michael Conforto (OF) - Conforto is ranked fourth in the Mets' system by MLB.com, just behind fellow outfielder and first-round pick, Brandon Nimmo. Conforto was taken from Oregon State University as the tenth overall selection a year ago, and he has not disappointed. He was hitting .382 with St. Lucie before a promotion to Binghamton. With the Mets, he already has two home runs and a .362 average in his first 14 games.
Gavin Cecchini (SS) - Cecchini is the younger brother of Red Sox farm prospect Garin, and he was injured the first time the Mets came through Manchester. The 12th overall pick in the 2012 draft, he's the ninth-ranked prospect in the Mets system. Through his first 51 games this season he was hitting .313 with 14 doubles and four home runs. He's hitting .269 against New Hampshire in seven home games.

He's the 25th-ranked prospect in the Red Sox organization according to MLB.com. He was an 11th-round pick by the Red Sox from Division II Nova Southeastern two years ago.
Simon Mercedes (RHP) - A hard-throwing right hander, Mercedes is making his Double-A debut as a 23-year-old. Ranked as the Red Sox' 28th-best prospect, the Dominican carried a 1-2 record and 3.60 ERA through his first 15 games of the year. He was signed by the Red Sox in March of 2012.
