LAST GAME: The B-Mets were shut out, 3-0, at the hands of the Trenton Thunder Saturday night at Arm and Hammer Park. Rainy Lara tossed his first career complete game, allowing three runs in eight innings in the losing effort. It was the first B-Met complete game by a pitcher other than Gabriel Ynoa. Binghamton managed just two hits and three total baserunners, never getting a man past first base.

BINGHAMTON STARTER: RHP Seth Lugo is making his 16th start and the first of his career against Trenton. Lugo is coming off three consecutive wins, allowing one total earned run in the three outings combined. It's the first time in Lugo's career that he has won three consecutive starts. He has struck out 26 batters over his last 25 innings, matching a season-high with eight whiffs in his last start.

TRENTON STARTER: RHP Eric Ruth is making his 13th start and the first of his career against Binghamton. He is coming off a loss, allowing two unearned runs in seven innings against New Hampshire. Ruth has allowed more than three earned runs just once this season. He is 4-0 with a 0.48 ERA in six appearances at home.

SHUTOUT: Binghamton was shut out for the sixth time this season. The B-Mets are 4-1 following a shutout this season, averaging 6.6 runs in those games. It was the fourth time Binghamton has been held to two hits this year and the first time that the B-Mets failed to get a runner past first base. It was Trenton's first shutout thrown since the 2008 season.

DEFENSE WINS: Trenton has scored a run in two of their last 27 innings in the series, still managing to win two of the first three games. The Thunder are batting .228 in the 10 games against Binghamton this season, averaging 3.7 runs. Trenton has taken six of the first 10 in the season series.

RISP: Trenton is batting .208 (33-159) with men in scoring position over their last 18 games. They have one hit in their last 13 at-bats with men in scoring position in the series.

FIRST TO 15: Binghamton is the lone team in the league to have 15 wins in the month of July. It's the most wins for Binghamton in a single month this year. The B-Mets lead the league in team ERA (2.08) for the month, and rank second in home runs (18). Binghamton has had a sub 3 era in just one of their last 51 months

NEED FOR SPEED: Binghamton has one stolen base over their last nine games. The B-Mets are tied for the fewest stolen bases in the league (41).

HOME AWAY FROM HOME: Binghamton leads the league in road wins, having gone 30-22. Meanwhile the B-Mets are just 24-23 at NYSEG Stadium. The B-Mets are 18-8 in their last 26 games on the road, while Trenton has won seven of their last nine home games.

BEAST IN THE EAST: Binghamton has the best record of Eastern teams against their own division (33-23). The B-Mets have won 21 of their last 29 games against the East, propelling themselves into first place. In contrast, Binghamton is 21-22 against the West.

CLOSING TIME: Jon Velasquez has earned seven saves in the last three weeks and has been successful in each of his last 12 save opportunities. Velasquez has retired the first batter he has faced in all 21 appearances this season. Paul Sewald has been successful in his last 14 save opportunities. Overall, the B-Mets are 8-for-8 in save opportunities since July 2nd.

FINALE: Binghamton has won four consecutive series finales and seven of their last nine.
