Aviators Walk-Off Rainiers for Finale Win

LAS VEGAS, NV - The Tacoma Rainiers (13-8) allowed seven runs over the last four innings they played, losing the series finale to the Las Vegas Aviators (9-11) by a score of 7-5, Sunday at Las Vegas Ballpark.
Brian Anderson continued his hot hitting and got Tacoma on the board with a solo home run in the second inning. In his first appearance of the year, Bryan Woo needed just the lone run of support, as he spun three perfect innings.
The right-hander struck out five of the nine batters he faced, throwing 25 of his 35 pitches for strikes. Tacoma held their 1-0 lead until the seventh, when Las Vegas scored two runs on an RBI triple from Carlos Perez and an RBI double from Daz Cameron.
Ryan Bliss used an RBI triple of his own in the eighth to tie the game and came around to score on a sacrifice fly from Cade Marlowe. The Aviators quickly tied the game in their half of the eighth on an RBI double from Tyler Soderstrom.
The two teams continued to trade blows, as Michael Chavis and Perez each clubbed solo home runs in the ninth inning, sending it to extras tied 4-4. With runners on second and third in the 10th inning, Anderson delivered a sacrifice fly to give the Rainiers a 5-4 lead, but Samad Taylor was thrown out at the plate trying to score from second base.
Down to their final out, Perez came up huge again for Las Vegas, clubbing a three-run walk-off home run to hand Tacoma their fourth straight loss.
POSTGAME NOTES:
Jason Vosler tied Tacoma's season-high nine-game hitting streak with his single in the 10th inning today.
Major League rehabbers Bryan Woo and Collin Snider combined to throw four scoreless innings today, striking out eight. Woo spun three perfect frames, while Snider allowed one hit and one walk, striking out three in his lone inning of work.
With the loss, Tacoma dropped their fourth straight game and first series of the year.
Tacoma gets the day off tomorrow and will travel home for a six-game series against El Paso. First pitch between the Rainiers and Chihuahuas is set for 6:05 pm, Tuesday at Cheney Stadium. For more information and tickets, visit https://www.milb.com/tacoma.
